GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Jiufen is a mountain town in northeastern Taiwan, east of Taipei. It is known for the narrow alleyways of its old town, packed with teahouses, street-food shacks and souvenir shops. Near central Old Street is the Shengping Theater, established in the 1900s and since restored. Close by, the Gold Mine Museum traces the town's history as a mining hub during the Japanese-era gold rush.

GOLDEN WATERFALL

The Golden Waterfall is located near the Gold Ecological Park (黃金博物園區) in Jinguashi. The water is said to be of a golden color as a result of the combination of regular rainfall in this mining area and the abundance of heavy metal elements deposited in the riverbed.

JIUFEN OLD STREET

The bustling historical district of Jiufen, known for its narrow streets, food stalls & sweeping views of the mountains and sea.

NANYA ROCK FORMATIONS

A seaside spot popular with weekenders, due to the peculiar shape of the rocks formation.

REMAINS OF THE THIRTEEN LEVELS

The Remains of the 13 Levels is a former smelter plant in the Lianxin Village, near Ruifang. It is also called the Potala Palace of Mountain Mines.

RUIFANG TRAIN STATION

This is the transport hub for your trip from/to Taiwan and to visit the tourist attractions of Jiufen and Shifen.
