GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The city is located in south-eastern Paraguay. Part of a "triangle" known as the Triple Frontier (Paraguay/Argentina/Brazil), Ciudad del Este lies in front of the Brazilian city of Foz do Iguaçu. Separated from it by the Paraná River, it is linked by the Friendship Bridge.

FRIENDSHIP BRIDGE

The Friendship Bridge is an arch bridge connecting the Brazilian city of Foz do Iguaçu and the Paraguayan city of Ciudad del Este.

ITAIPU DAM

The Itaipu Dam is a huge hydroelectric dam on the Paraná River between Brazil and Paraguay.

TERERE TEA

Tereré is an infusion of yerba mate, similar to mate but prepared with cold water and ice rather than with hot water, and in a larger vessel.
