A scenic ride through the Vang Vieng countryside, through small villages and rice paddies, leads to the Tham Phu Kham cave and the Blue Lagoon. From the lagoon (renowned for its crystal-clear water), a hiking trail on the forested hill leads to the Phu Kham cave: it features a reclining Buddha statue in the main chamber.
