GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Lido, or Venice Lido island, is home to three settlements:
- The Lido itself, in the north, is home to the Film Festival (which takes place in September), the Grand Hotel des Bains, the Venice Casino and the Grand Hotel Excelsior. The Lido beach boasts an 11-kilometre long sandbar.
- Malamocco, in the centre, was the first and, for a long time, the only settlement, and was at one time home to the Doge of Venice.
- Alberoni at the southern end is home to the golf course.

LOCATIONS EXPERIENCED
LIDO BEACH
The island of Lido separates the lagoon of Venice from the open sea. It boasts a 10-km long sandy beach, which has been world-famous for a long time, as it was once the first tourist beach in the Western world. The sea is rather calm and the beach is still very popular with tourists during the summer.
