GENERAL DESCRIPTION
La Paz city, located in west-central Bolivia 68 km (42 mi) southeast of Lake Titicaca, is set in a canyon created by the Choqueyapu River. It is located in a bowl-like depression surrounded by the high mountains of the Altiplano. The city's dramatic setting can be taken in during rides on Mi Teleférico, the aerial cable car system.
FABIO'S REVIEW
The city itself has not much to offer from a tourist perspective. The main attractions, mentioned earlier, are the Witches Market (Mercado de las Brujas), the church and museum of San Francisco, Calle Jaen with its colonial buildings and museums, and Plaza Murillo (with the government buildings and the main cathedral).
