GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The crab is the city's mascot (a statue of a crab stands in the city centre). Apart from the Cape Coast Castle, other attractions include Fort William, built in 1820, and Fort Victoria, built in 1702. The city also boasts a series of Asafo Shrines, and the "Cape Coast Centre for National Culture".
