GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Ao Nang is a resort town in southern Thailand's Krabi Province. It is known for a long Andaman coast beachfront and access to dive sites off the nearby islands in its bay. It is also a center for long-tail boat tours to the beaches of limestone islands such as Ko Hong, Ko Poda and Ko Gai (Chicken Island). Other boats make trips to Railay Beach, a well-known destination for rock climbers.

LOI KRATHONG FESTIVAL 2006
Loi Krathong is the second most important festival in Thailand. Traditionally, it releases the sins of the past year by floating a "kratong" (small lotus-shaped flower arrangements with incense stick) down waterways to flush away the sins. The releasing of khoms (glowing paper balloons), into the night adds an enchanting touch to the festivities.
