Abancay is a city in Peru's Apurímac region. In the northeast, the Mirador de Taraccasa lookout offers panoramic views over the city. To the north, the Santuario Nacional Ampay features protected forest sheltering pumas and spectacled bears. Northeast of the city, the Sayhuite archaeological complex has stone ruins and an elaborately carved boulder. The Cconoc Thermal Baths lie farther east by the Apurímac River.
