CARMO FAIR

The Carmo Fair was built in the 19th century under the Authority of the Portuguese local government in order to sell goods and fish under shelter. It was regularly used up until the 1970's.

OLD TAIPA MARKET

A unique fusion of Portuguese and Chinese influences, the Taipa Village is a cultural district on the island of Taipa. It features plenty of colonial pastel-colored houses, traditional restaurants and quiet backstreets.

As one of the best-preserved areas in the city, this quaint village offers a chance to explore Macau’s unique cultural heritage through its colonial buildings, museums and art galleries.

OUR LADY OF CARMEL CHURCH

The Church of Our Lady of Carmel (Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, 嘉模聖母堂) stands on a small hill on the edge of old Taipa village. It was built in 1885 in the neoclassical style, with colored walls typical of the Portuguese colonial architecture.

TAIPA HOUSES-MUSEUM

One of the mail cultural relics of the Island, the Taipa Houses-Museum comprises five colonial houses, in typical Portuguese architectural style , featuring the “Macanese Living Museum”, the “Exhibitions Gallery”, the “Creative Casa”, the “Nostalgic House” and the “House for Reception”.
