BOCA DE YUMA

Boca de Yuma is a village in the province of La Altagracia, west of the mouth of the Rio Yuma. The word Yuma is an indigenous Taíno name.

CASA PONCE DE LEON

Casa Ponce De León is located in San Rafael del Yuma. The Museum tells the story of the courageous Spanish explorer, Juan Ponce de León, who was a page at the court of King Ferdinand of Spain when he set out to explore the New World. The homestead, built in the style of contemporary Castilian country mansions, also served as a fortress.

CUEVA DE BERNA

The Cueva de Berna is a cave, with scattered Taíno pictograms and stalactite/stalagmite formations, located a few kilometers west of Boca de Yuma (on the way toward the entrance of Parque Nacional Cotubanamá).
