Historical Center

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Ribeirão da Ilha is the old district of Florianopolis. Its historic center, in Frequesia, has a plaza which contains the Igreja Nossa Senhora da Lapa do Ribeirão (church), and the Ethnological Museam which houses documents and relics from the region's history.

Yellow-Visiting

The historical center can be visited in half a day, and does not offer much, except a colonial theater (Teatro Álvaro de Carvalho, which was closed during my entire stay in Florianopolis), a cathedral (located on at Praça XV de Novembro) and the municipal market on Largo da Alfândega.
