GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Ho Chi Minh City formerly known as Saigon) is a city in southern Vietnam, famous for the pivotal role it played in the Vienam War. It is also known for its French colonial landmarks, including Notre-Dame Cathedral, made entirely of materials imported from France, and the 19th-century Central Post Office. Food stalls line the city’s streets, especially around bustling Bến Thành Market.

CATHEDRAL NOTRE DAME DE SAIGON

Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon, officially Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception, is a Christian cathedral located in the downtown of Ho Chi Minh City.

COLONIAL POST OFFICE

Saigon Central Post Office is an historical post office in downtown Ho Chi Minh City, near the Notre-Dame cathedral. The building was constructed in the late 19th century, when Vietnam was part of French Indochina.

HO CHI MINH CITY HALL

Ho Chi Minh City Hall (formerly known as Saigon City Hall or Hôtel de Ville de Saïgon) was built between 1902-1908 in a French colonial style. It was a luxury hotel during the French colonial era, and was then renamed in 1975 as Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

NGUYEN HUE WALKING STREET

Nguyen Hue Street is a broad walking promenade in the middle of HCM's District 1, running from the People’s Committee to the wharf. Some street shows are held during the weekends.
