GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is known for its centuries-old architecture and a rich culture with Southeast Asian, Chinese and French influences. At its heart is the chaotic Old Quarter, where the narrow streets are roughly arranged by trade. There are many little temples, including Bach Ma, honoring a legendary horse, and the Đồng Xuân Market, selling household goods and street food.

BA DINH SQUARE (HO CHI MINH TOMB)

Ba Đình Square is the name of the main square in Hanoi, where president Ho Chi Minh read the Proclamation of Independence of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam on September 2, 1945. When Ho Chi Minh died, the granite Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum was built here to display his embalmed body.

HO CHI MINH MUSEUM

The Ho Chi Minh Museum is located in the center of Hanoi. Built in the 1990s, it is dedicated to the late Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam's revolutionary struggle against foreign powers.

HOAN QUIEM LAKE

Hoan Kiem Lake, also known as Hồ Gươm, is a lake in the historical center of Hanoi. The lake is one of the major scenic spots in the city and serves as a focal point for its public life.

HOME (TON DUC TANG)

Used to be known as Hàng Bột (the Flour street), this long and always busy street is now called Ton Duc Thang. It specializes in selling shoes displayed behind glass case; there is even a supermarket of shoes in the middle of the street.
