FABIO'S REVIEW
There are two entertainment areas in Siem Reap: the "barang" (foreigners) area, called "Pub street", which is where all the tourists go (very noisy, with restaurants offering foreign food, a few classic pubs and the most unbearable tuk-tuk drivers on the planet); and the local pub street, where the locals go (quieter, with restaurants offering local food and companionship, and karaoke places). Both are a waste of time and should be avoided.
LOCATIONS EXPERIENCED
KHMER PUB STREET
The Cambodian beer gardens are independent places and usually come with a KTV and/or private rooms. At the entrance of the beer garden, there are often hostesses waiting to accompany the (mainly male) customers to the karaoke or private rooms to drink, eat and sing with them. In the open-air area, they usually play loud Cambodian pop music and show a movie or sports event on a big screen.
